Tasting Notes

93
Vinous Stephen Tanzer - 01 Nov 00
Full ruby-red. More minerally and less extravagant on the nose than the '97 Brunate, but still shows rich, liqueur-like notes of red berries, mocha and brown spices. Offers wonderful sweetness and depth, with surprisingly sound framing acidity. Conveys a stronger impression of structure than the Brunate. Finishes with firmer tannins but also great sweetness. This will need time to express itself completely.
